Hi, I'm Daman. Welcome to my corner of the internet.

I spent ten years building cloud and AI infrastructure at Microsoft and HPE for some of the largest companies in the world. Then I left to build the piece that was missing: AI that can prove what it did.

Today I run Cognesio LLP. Our product, LegalAI Space, is a team of AI agents that do real legal work. Every result comes with a verified citation trail and a signed record a regulator can read. We started with law, because in law an unverified answer can end a career.

My story

From enterprise infrastructure to a legal AI company.

  1. 2012 – 2022 Microsoft and HPE

    The enterprise years

    An engineering degree from BITS Pilani, then ten years at Microsoft and HPE building cloud and AI infrastructure for Fortune 500 companies. That is where I learned how big organisations really think about trust, compliance and scale. Most founders never get to see it from the inside.

  2. 2022 – 2024 Two years of experiments

    Finding the question

    After Microsoft I spent two years building small AI tools to find out what these models could and couldn't do. Markdown Converters processed more than 20,000 documents, and legal teams kept turning up in the user list. PaperAI taught me that AI output needs structured human review, not blind trust. And every user asked me the same thing: can we prove this answer is right?

  3. In between Motherhood, IIM Lucknow

    Becoming a mother, becoming a founder

    Motherhood taught me something no corporate role did: how to be fiercely clear about what matters and go after it, however hard it is. An executive product programme at IIM Lucknow sharpened the business side. I didn't leave Microsoft despite becoming a mother. I left because of the perspective it gave me. Somewhere in the middle I also built DrawInkPaper, free drawing tutorials for kids, because I like art and wanted to share it.

  4. Today Cognesio LLP

    Building AI that can prove itself

    That one question became Cognesio LLP and our product, LegalAI Space: a governance platform built for legal teams. Specialist AI agents do the real work, from research and contract review to due diligence and compliance, and one governance layer checks every step. Conflicts, jurisdiction and client data are cleared before a run starts. Every citation is re-fetched and checked against the source. And it all ends in a signed, reproducible record a compliance officer can hand to a regulator. I'm onboarding UK and EU firms now.
